MB-EAT: MINDFULLNES BASED EATING AWARENESS TRAINING*

A 12 Session Journey into Fulfilling Our True Hungers

 

This evidence based, research validated program has been taught for over 20 years helping people to lower their binge eating from 4 – 1.6 episodes a week, lower A1c (blood sugars), lose weight and improve their relationship to food and their bodies.

SESSION 1 INNER WISDOM – OUTER WISDOM AND KNOWING YOUR “WHY?”

Get to know a raisin like never before! Learn how to identify your body’s hunger (Inner Wisdom) versus your mind’s ideas (Outer Wisdom). Enjoy your first meditation.

 

SESSION 2 MINDFUL EATING AND THE 500 CALORIE CHALLENGE (OPTIONAL)

Learn a pre meal mini meditation. Let’s have some cheese and crackers! A mindful approach to Outer Wisdom, Calories and Weight Loss (optional; this program is weight neutral).

 

SESSION 3 HUNGER AWARENESS, EMOTIONAL EATING & BODY AWARENESS

Am I hungry? Take a peek behind the curtain at why we really eat. Quality over Quantity. Learn a fulbody scan.

 

SESSION 4 MOVEMENT, TASTE SATISFACTION, HEALING SELF TOUCH

Am I satisfied? Chocolate! Quality vs Quantity. Cultivating kindness toward self.

 

SESSION 5 AM I FULL? MINDFUL CHOICES, FORGIVENESS

Am I full? Learn your fullness and satiety cues. Cookies and Chips.
Why am I eating?

 

SESSION 6 NUTRITION AND ENERGY BALANCE

How to eat for maximum health AND pleasure. Fiber and the gut biome. Who am I feeding in there? What do I truly know?

 

SESSION 7 MINDFUL CHOICES AND POTLUCK MEAL

Eating with others. “All You Can Eat” buffet. What’s enough?

 

SESSION 8 MINDFUL MOVEMENT AND EATING TRIGGERS

Finding the joy in movement. Know your triggers and how to manage them.

 

SESSION 9 STRESS, DISTRESS, EATING AND VALUES: WORKING WITH THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS

What’s your favorite/comfort food? How do I break the chain of stress eating? What are my values?

 

SESSION 10 BREAKING THE CHAIN AND CONNECTING TO YOUR HIGHER SELF

How do my thoughts, feelings and choices lead to over or emotional eating? Knowing and breaking your chains. Mindful Choices for life!

 

WEEKS 11 – 13 PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! (No sessions meeting)

Using the tools and cultivating self awareness and compassion. Weekly drop in “office hours” and one on one coaching available.

 

SESSION 11 CULTIVATING SELF ACCEPTANCE

Knowing and using your “Why-Power” to flex with life as it changes, loving your self.

 

WEEKS 14 – 17 PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE (No sessions meeting)

Continued exploration of hungers, tools and support. Weekly drop in “office hours” and one on one coaching available.

 

SESSION 12 CULTIVATING INNER WISDOM (Last session)

Knowing yourself, your strengths, your skills and resources. The power of Self Acceptance. Checking in with your “Why.” The journey continues!
